Privacy Policy

By using the Friends and Family Prepay Service to purchase top-up phone credit you agree to this privacy policy and to our terms and conditions. Please make sure you read them carefully.

Purpose

This privacy policy explains why friendsandfamilyrepay.com collects personal information (‘personal data’) about you when you use this service.

This policy explains:

  1. How we store your data
  2. What we do with it
  3. How to get a copy of your personal data
  4. What to do if you think we’ve done something wrong

This service is managed by L&G International Ltd. We collect and process personal data in order to provide telephone credit payment facilities to prisoners on behalf of their friends and family.

Who we are

Our website address is: https://friendsandfamilyprepay.com. This service is owned and operated by L&G International Ltd.

What is personal data?

Personal data is information about you as an individual. Examples of personal data are name, address, telephone number, or email address. It may also include information about the prisoner who you are purchasing telephone credit for.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Types of personal data we process

We only process personal data if we require it to provide you with a service.

So, if you make a payment this would include:

  • your name, phone number, email address, and details about the prisoner you want to purchase credit for
  • payment information is processed directly by the payment organisation (either Stripe or PayPal) and is not processed by this site

This allows us to:

  • contact you to tell you your transaction has been successful
  • apply top-up credit for your prisoner contact

If you contact us with an enquiry this would include:

  • your name, email address, and the details of your enquiry

When you use the website your IP address may be logged for troubleshooting and security reasons.

Who the information may be shared with

When necessary we will share some of your personal information with you and other organisations:

  • Payments are handled by PayPal or Stripe. This allows us to offer a credit purchase facility on this site.
  • Your personal data will be provided to a member of staff in order to deliver credit to the prisoner you have requested. It may also be necessary to provide some of your data to the appropriate prison in order to allocate the top-up phone credit to the correct prisoner. The prisoner’s personal data will also need to be passed on to the prison to provide this service.

Purchasing credit using this site may involve embedding content from other sites in order to deliver a credit card payment capability or to allow you to pay using PayPal.

Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We do not collect any analytics on this site for our own purposes. Analytics may be present in embedded content where we partner with card payment organisations.

Where we store your data

Your personal data is collected and stored in the United Kingdom. Where necessary this data may need to be transferred out of the United Kingdom (for example, where we need to add top-up credit to a prisoner at HMP Windmill Hill in Gibraltar).

Data may also transit outside of the United Kingdom while it is being sent due to the way in which the internet works.

How long we retain your data

What rights you have over your data

If you have made a purchase on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

  • let you know why we require this information
  • only ask for the information we need
  • make sure we don’t keep it longer than necessary
  • ensure your data is not used for any commercial use without your consent
  • protect your data and ensure only authorised personnel have access to it
  • only share your data where necessary, for legitimate purposes, or to comply with legal obligations

  • ask us to correct or erase your personal data
  • make a complaint to the supervisory authority
